It seems that prostitution is currently LEGAL in Russia(?), but new members of the St. Petersburg City Legislature are seeking to make it illegal, and seek to administer fines and/or short prison sentences (between 5-15 days) for getting caught-out paying for sex-- OR-- They have the option to MARRY THE SEX WORKER, and thus AVOID paying any fines or jail time!

They go on to admit that the law would be very difficult to enforce because of the inherent trouble "to collect proof of the crime", but it's an interesting idea!
