Exclamation Protest against criminalisation in NI - Stormont Belfast- Mon 20th October!

    Hi folks,

Just posting this here for those who may not see it otherwise.

It is looking like regardless to the hard word by so any and recent research the client criminalisation bill as proposed by Lord Morrow will pass this week. I don't have words to express the disappointment I feel in this decision.

There will be a protest tomorrow between 4-5pm outside of Stormont. There will be masks, red umbrellas and loud voices. Anonymity is possible and the bigger presence presented the better.

So if you're near by and have some time it would be great if you joined. I understand not everyone is comfortable with attending such things but worth posting here.

Of course I have been asked to attend, unfortunately is too short notice and I made other plans for tomorrow.

Saying that, anyone who can go, please do so, very much appreciate it from me.

Best of luck to those taking the time to keep fighting this battle. x

Thank you - I am grateful for you going to Stormont to protest on our behalf, but I cannot be there.
I contributed to the Study that was commissioned by the Department of Justice and have read it in depth over the weekend. I hope I have interpreted it correctly for all who have not had time to read it:

The police do not have the equipment to monitor our phones
The police do not have the money to buy the equipment to monitor our phones
and neither do they have the man power to monitor our phones.
Even if they did have the equipment they would need a court order to listen in to private calls
This evidence is then emissable in court?
Of the 81 suspected trafficking cases from 2009 to 2014 - only 26 were trafficked - hardly an epidemic!
In any one week in NI there are 700 working ladies - the majority of whom are Independent and it is their chosen profession.
The police also said that in order to gain a conviction they would need a written statement from the lady - which obviously we wont give!
Lord Morrow & Co have no grounds for this warped bill - they are just masquerading it as a trafficking bill when it is nothing of the sort.
I see this as a direct challenge of my FREEDOM TO CHOOSE how to sell my time and make a living. I will be taking all necessary steps to continue as previously with some carefully implemented changes. And from the feedback from clients old and news - they wont be dictated to either
PS: Just got Barrister friend on way to give me some pointers which I will pass on

Best wishes To all - Alex
