Default Italian Economy in Recovery, Thanks to Sex Worker's Contribution

A piece in the Independent Newspaper Today finally admitted that Sex Work revenues helped to prevent Italy's Economy from going into Recession. When will an Irish Government admit the hidden spending of Sex Workers is helping to turn the Irish Economy round. Legalise And Regulate or Continue to accept twisted half truths from the oppressors of the Right to Choose.

It's also true to say that our spending benefits hotels 12months of the year, public transport not to mention our everyday expenses. It's about time that the government, the Church, TORL & a certain percentage of the general public realised that the majority of escorts are 'normal' educated people who work of their own free will.

Irish Sweet Sarah, The other injustice, as you know, is the Pension Contributions Sex Workers cannot pay, I know when we are young and enjoying what we do, we seldom think of that. If future planned changes go ahead we will all lightly need to fund our own pensions, The Government want to get out of financing Pensions

xman, !6th Century Sentiment, of a dying, powerful and Vocal Minority is losing the battle of Fear and Hypocrisy, Even with all their desperate crocodile tears their tactics are being ignored on all sides in the new immerging multi-gendered, multi-cultured Society Ireland is today, Forget the Past, Live for Today, Plan for the Future

Correct me if I am wrong here
But didn't the EU recently start including the 'estimated' profits from the sex industry and from crime in their calculations of every member states GDP(Gross Domestic Product)
So in a way Ireland has already recognised the contribution the sex industry has made to the country's recovery

I think this is all bullshit! Most earnings from the sex industry are secreted out of this country so not giving a pissitive contribution to this economy - most of the girls ate foreign and their 'savings ' are sent home in sone shape or form!

Clueless by name and clueless by nature?

Of course these "foreign girls" send money home. Be that to save, pay a mortgage over seas or support people.

But working and living (even if temporarily) in a country means investing and giving back to it's economy. Whether you're utilising the services of western union, banking in AIB or hiding cash under your mattress.

It's not only via paying taxes in a country that a person helps support an economy.

These "foreign girls" still rent apartments, hotels, use transport, eat at local restaurants, support small businesses like salons etc.

Pretty sure I read that somewhere. Obviously it's only an estimate but it's great to see sex work being legitimised and de stigmatised even in such a small accidental way

Most of their earnings are probably not taxed and Im not against these girls earning and remitting ( however there has been several cases of Romanian & other pimps exposed as getting the remittances from girls here) so there is a big loss to the economy there! Even a clueless one can work that out!

Look! As far as I am concerned, EbonyAmber has probably made the most appropriate point so far,"These "foreign girls" still rent apartments, hotels, use transport, eat at local restaurants, support small businesses like salons etc.''
