Default would there be more rape if we're no escort

I remember in the tv3 program about escort a guy on it says if there was no escorts than he would probably rape someone. which is a sick statement by him.would there be more rape if we're no escort. I hope this is not true was do you think.

General consensus among most "experts" is that rape is a crime of violence, not a crime of sexual passion.
So, if this is true, I suspect the answer must be no.

I think rape is more about control than it is about sex. Not really sure if it would make much difference or not to be honest. It's a good question.

I like to think that I am not a shock absorber for rape.

The above posters are absolutely right, rape is about violence and control.
Escorts exist because of guys willing to pay for 'time and companionship (etc)' for many genuine reasons such as shyness around women, fantasy, disinterested partner etc.

.....and as Saul says 'you should not watch tv3'!!

From what I've read previously I'd tend to agree with the general sentiment here that rape is more about control than the actual sex act and there does seem to be quite a bit written on that aspect of it.

However there's also evidence than runs contrary to this. Take what happened when Rhode Island accidentally legalized prostitution between 1989 and 2009, all the figures say that incidents of rape and STIs were significantly down on previous records.

Rape has nothing to go with sex. It's about abuse and violence and nothing less. Asking this question perpetuates that particular stereotype.

Please think hard before you post about these issues.
