The thing with forums is that you have minutes hours to think up replies. A real face to face conversation requires an answer in seconds. This is why i never take much attention to what is written on forums because if we all had the benefit of hours to think/act/respond to different facets of life, wed be geniuses. Forums can make anyone look like a genius because you are given time to think up an answer.

a real personality shines through in face to face interpersonal interactions. but online personas can be changed and manipulated because you have the luxury of time to think up your replies

    I think.....I mean.... ...I'll ......... I'll get back to you in a few hours.

I agree, it's all too easy. It really depends on your motives though, which isn't always easy to figure out with some people. I'd hazard a guess that suckmyballs isn't looking to be the sage of the boards. Starting a new profile every time something goes tits up is such a cop-out though, for the profile changers as much as anyone else. What's an online persona without a few warts to serve as reminders?

"Storm in a tea cup" springs to mind
A pm apology to whoever you offended would have been a more discreet /sincere apology ?

You're usually only saying what a bunch of the rest of us don't have the balls to say so I wouldn't worry about it.

yea i agree the only way a forum is of substance is if we know each others real identities. So the name and face would have to be known, just as a a person is known when they go to work or socialize. What a forum is is like to use an analogy is going down to the pub but we are all wearing cloaks and masks like in Eyes Wide Shut and we dont know who each person is. I could be john, james, jimmy or jack. I could be a nobel laurate or a convicted killer. Nobody knows. Forgive me for being blunt, but the conversations and arguments on this forum between clients and on other forums are insignificant because of this....

In order for a person to enjoy a saturday night out, they need to know who they are socializing with. I said it to lucy chambers i think it was that the only people of substance on this forum are the escorts, because their identity is known. Now they may have their face covered and use an alias, but they still are dependent on a good reputation (identity) to have good business. Now if there reputation was poor and their face covered, they could change alias and start anew, but they would be starting from rock bottom, which is time consuming. So They kind of have to behave like in the real world

so what escorts post is important. what random posters like me post is irrelevant. I could be in a different country....

actually the sad thing about it is that if you go on to a website like the boards, the mods go to extreme lengths to treat the website like a one on one conversation and what is even more ridiculous is posters take their alias personal. so if someone had an alias 1.2.3.4 and you called 1.2.3.4 an idiot, the person behind 1.2.3.4 would probably be insulted. IMO because your true identity is hidden, you cant take it personal. They dont know your true identity so its not personal.

another thing you will notice is that what is said on forums tends to be forgotten. If this was a real conversation (face to face) you will remember what was said and who said it. because on a forum you cannot correlate a face with the alias of the posters, you tend to forget what is said. Its funny that i can remember what an escort says (because i process what she says with her face) but cant remember what a poster (non escort) says (because there is no facial recognition)

anyhow im off to bed. have to do a lot of work tommmorow
