    Default Dave Whelan racism

Wigan Chairman Dave Whelan today has been charged by the FA,
for racist comments made during an interview.

Dave Whelan recently hired Malky Mackay, who also was centre of a racist and sexist accusations.

Do you find Whelans comments offensive/racist?

Does it sound like an older generation man speaking his mind?

Are the FA under pressure to react due to the hiring of Mackay?

    This is what he said.....

Whelan was accused of anti-Semitism and condoning racism for referring to Chinese people as "chinks" and saying Jewish people "chase money" in an interview he gave to the Guardian after hiring Malky Mackay as manager.

So what I say ... Why? Well you can call me "Paddy" or similar I couldn't really give a shit to be honest we are all too politicaly correct these days, he shouldn't have said it but it's no big deal.

I think this is a case of PC gone a bit far. Lets face it, Whelan comes from an age where Alf Garnett was considered light enetertainment. Put it this way, I'd say there are plenty of chairmen with murkier pasts but no one bats an eyelid. Regarding Mackay, I have to say the almost hysterical reaction to his appointment pisses me off. OK, his comments (whether they were private or not) were very ill-advised but does that mean he has to work in McDonalds for the rest of his life??
If at first you don't succeed..... don't take up skydiving
