    Default Defiantly vs. definitely

    Hi chaps,

When you see an escort and you will 'defiantly' see her again, is this a typo, or do you literally mean that you will see her again out of spite?

You know, it's one thing being a grammar Nazi, but when you change the word entirely, it's quite another!

I'm old and fat so in my case I'm pretty sure they all feel I'm doing it defiantly.

    LOL!!

Noticed this myself recently, and either can work. However, I think this is all down to the wonderful invention that we call predictive text or autocorrect!

I think it's actually down to the fact that most people can't spell...

Amazing the amount of times here, in posts and reviews, that you see defiantly used where the meaning intended is '' definitely ''.
Bad spelling maybe, but defiantly is being spelled correctly so maybe predictive text sometimes brings it up, when 'def' has been typed in .

10,000 years of Middle Eastern civilisation and the place is not at peace but rather in pieces.

    Ah, an old Samlad thread.
    Predictive text and autocorrect.
Even Microsoft Word autocorrect corrects nearly all misspellings of “definitely” as “defiantly”.
