never would of made prefect but I was a 'perfect' bully basher

walking out of school on my first day at secondary school & one of the 5th year boys who I had met while staying with a friend over the summer (he was always being mean to us) started to take the piss out of me, calling me names & pulling my hair, showing off infront of his friends. I punched him & we ended up proper scrapping outside school. After that I had a bit of a rep. I always liked the clever kids so ended up fighting the bullies anytime they got grief ...

Quite common actually. Most fee-paying/private schools would work a system of head boys and girls in each year and prefects etc.

And not just private schools either. Near where I went to school there were three all girls secondary schools that would have had head girls and prefects. Admittedly this was about 25 years ago but I know from speaking to the sons of former schoolmates of mine that the system is still alive and kicking.

This guy said to his mother that he did not want to go into school that day. Concerned she asked why and he said that some of the teachers and pupils were picking on him a lot. His mother tried to jolly him along and say that he would be alright, that he just needed to stand up for himself more but he was having none of it. Finally after more than an hour pf persuasion, she lost patience and said that enough was enough; he was the Principal and was paid to go in so he just had to go ..........................
