Just wondered why an escort/courtesan/hooker would be offended being called a prostitute, after all that's what it is!

What is euphemistically called the "N word" is also offensive. At one time the "N word" was not considered so offensive, and it even had a noble etymology coming from classical Latin, but no decent person would use the word today. I think the "P word" should also be seen in the same light. It is also judgemental and with too many negative connotations.

so what word do you use instead of the "N word"? Probably Black like 99% of the people I know. Which is funny as the word Negro is just the Spanish for balck and the "N Word" is derived from that. So as long as we stick to Black no one is offended.
So as you can see no matter which word you use it means the same. People get all taken up in certain words and try to get offended, but it's not the words that should cause offence it's the tone in which they are used.

Yes it is a very offensive term and prostitute is just an ugly word in general it's more associated with the street walkers and generally a sleazy term. So it's diffinelty not a term u would ever associate with the ladies here who in my veiw provide us guys with a high class escort service! Escort been the word and one that should never be associated with the term prostitute because they are two totally different things!
