Thread: Best laid plans...

    Default Best laid plans...

So finally got a bit of spare cash together for two hours of heaven, managed to wangle a half day where I can disappear unnoticed, and all set to make my booking for tomorrow when... the school phones and one of the kids has suspected tonsillitis

    Thanks for the kind thoughts

Mmmm.... tonsillitis is a bugger; seems to be doing the rounds atm.

I mostly work from home and child in question is a teen, so they don't require much in the way of minding. More pampering

Looks like they'll be home tomorrow, so no chance of getting away as my absence will be logged and reported on (missus away all day tomorrow).

    Fate eh?

Sorry to hear about you kid honey, had the same throat problems for many years growing up, missed so much school over it too. Best get them out before the age of 12 as its so difficult once they get a bit older plus a hell of a lot more painful.

But I am sure if you were to go visit one of us lovely ladies you would have your kid on the back of your mind so best to keep the money in your secret place (so the wife dont find it, loll), look after the kid and once he/she is better spend the money with a reassured peace of mind and less chance of getting the droop due to a guilty mind.

    Thank you

You make a good point actually, about it being at the back of my mind. Hadn't thought of that. I guess these things happen for a reason.

    True.

So I ended up with two (out of four) off school today; they're fine, no temperature just streaming colds, aches and pains. Maybe a bit of an odd definition of "fine" but no sign of tonsillitis so far, so that's good!

My missus' trip out for the day got cancelled late last night. I'm quite superstitious, and it's all put the wind up me a bit. Shit like this happens for a reason. Or maybe I'm not as clever as I think, and I got rumbled
