Lads I am getting scary from recent Garda activities against punting.... my favourite girls are in town for which I was waiting from last few months.... now confused what to do??... dont want to miss them either. :-(.... Seems to be brothels and pimps that are attracting police attention but so many here book appointments and find more then one person in the apartment.

This is where the confusion starts — as a punter I can book an escort who advertises as being independent, I arrive and meet the escort. I still don't know if there are any other people in that apartment, if there are other escorts working from there of indeed if there is a pimp there! It can be a very call on the punters behalf.

It is kind of impossible to answer.

I look at a profile of an escort for example

It says she is independent, Spanish, natural bust 34DD and listed in her favourites is OWO and FK.

I meet her and realise she is not Spanish but Eastern European, has an enhanced breasts but are not 34DD, she does not do OWO or FK - so am I to believe her that she is independent after she has told me so many porkies so far? We have to trust the escort when she says she is independent but sometimes that trust can be miss placed. Of course she is not going to say there are 3 or 4 other girls working with her or that there is some guy there taking a percentage of her earnings!

I have been told I have seen non independent escorts - but for me all the ladies I have seen have appeared to be independent as far as I was concerned! Even after visiting them I could not tell.

I agreeing about the bending of the truth about the country etc. Josephine as they want to conceal their true identity as best they can - I don't have an issue with that but you can see where I am coming from - there is often a lot of smoke and mirrors going on when a client visits an escort and all this goes to make it harder for the punter to know for sure whether he is visiting a true independent escort or not.

It is not illegal to visit an escort in Ireland. Whether the girl is independent or not... It is not illegal. You can walk into a brothel with ten girls and still be within your rights. In this case it is lilegal for them .. NOT YOU.

only time you are in trouble is if a girl is underage or proven to be trafficked.

The problem as I see it is not the fact it's perfectly legal for an individual to visit an escorts like Mr Jamescork said, it's the risk of having your name exposed to the public eye and we're you unfortunate enough to be caught visiting a brothel while you can't be prosecutes you can be forced to testify against the ladies on behalf of the gardai which would have the same effect of exposing your name as a prosecution would.
Best advice is to choose the ladies you visit wisely and should you be unfortunate enough to be stopped by the gardai on your exact keep your mouth shut. Don't try get creative with excuses. Just keep your mouth shut, admit to nothing so a testimony from you about nothing cannot be used in court. A shut mouth catches no flies ; )

It is not illegal at the moment to book an Escort regardless of if she works Independently or in a brothel or for an Agency. The difference is that the latter two are illegal to run and it is illegal to work for the establishments, so you can get embroiled in the legalities of the establishment, although you yourself are not doing anything illegal.

It is also not illegal to advertise sexual services, as long as you do not state that you are paying for them. You are paying for the time and companionship, as this would be classed as soliciting. However, it is not illegal to sell sex!
