given the lack of replies on this thread i dont think people are too concerned, yet.

I still think it will come back negative tomorrow. seems more like a media sensationalist exercise stunt at the moment.

Just stating facts not judging, cos way too big.

I think Saudi Arabia etc have lots more ready cash they others, UK has borrowed money so is a lot of debt.

Just a bug bear of mine when people say, wheres America wheres UN, well where is the Arab leauge and china and Russia.

OK not wanting to change topic,

    Ebola again please, my bad.
i meant within their own areas. Ok the UK was dealing with the IRA and now islamic fanaticism, but the country hasnt been actually engaged in war on streets since the luftwaffe started raining down bombs.

I'm just watching the Dr Brantly press conference : one morning he woke up 'feeling under the weather'.

I ask : how many ppl still travel when 'feeling under the weather' ? They are contagious !

Subsequently he was diagnosed as having Ebola and was put in isolation.

When he was at death's door (said to his carers "I'm dying") , even phoned his wife in US to say good bye ,

he was given ZMapp and was evacuated to Atlanta within days.

Now he appears to have completely recovered , and 'poses no health risk to others' .
ebola isnt airborne though. Someone would have to spit or sneeze on you

Local priest Fr Adrian Gavigan, of Mountcharles, confirmed that he had visited Mr Quinn before his death.

He said as far as he was concerned the dead man’s family knew nothing about an Ebola scare and everyone presumed he had died as a result of malaria.

He added that there had been no mention of Ebola until today.

“I’m not sure how this has all come about. Perhaps if this was a year ago and Ebola was not being talked about, then we would not have this situation now.

“There was never any mention of Ebola and everyone just presumed that he was showing all the signs of malaria.

“I’m not sure how this has come out or how the hospital have come to this conclusion. I just hope for the family’s sake that this is not the case,” he said.

picked that up from a forum

Lucky for us it is not airborne but for a poor nurse who helped a patient out of bed and touched him briefly with no gloves on, that just shows how easy it is to to catch with direct contact.
In the areas heavily affected the roads are closed down, food not getting in and farmers not sowing crops so food shortages expected next year.
Imo Martial Law and complete quarantine is the only solution.

World community needs to step up and provide food , emergency rations etc. to those in the isolated areas :

Food etc. can go in , nothing comes out.

Additional personnel are needed for contact tracing in the affected areas. : trace down every single person that a

sick person had contact with , and put them into preventative isolation.

Once that is done and ALL infected persons are quarantined , 42 days must pass without new cases in the community

before the outbreak can be considered over.

Will any govt or organization have the will and resources to enforce martial law and full quarantine ?

    I hope so x

With a different title , thread might have attracted more replies.

: the more intelligent types are not interested in the inane .

Lack of replies doesn't necessarily mean a lack of concern re the subject. They might just not click on it.

Imo it's VERY unlikely that they will come back with a positive result on the test.

That does not mean that the test was in fact negative.

As of a couple of weeks ago they're keeping a very tight lid on it -- worldwide.

the thread title spent weeks in the marketing room. it was designed to bring awareness to escorts in the south west and donegal.

i think martial law is a quantum leap. When marburg hit germany it was contained. Same with sars in asia. that the disease kills within weeks actually works against it because a disease like creutzfeldt-jakob or HIV can lie dormant for years. That how they survive, because like a cigarrette they dont kill for maybe 5 years down the road.

With ebola you quarantine those who are suffering and those in close proximity to them and through this you contain the disease. Influenza kills far more every year than ebola has ever killed and we dont fear it.

    "Marburg hit Germany" -- Germany !!! Not Guinea , Sierra L , Liberia !!! A world of difference !

Martial Law : just a couple of days ago an Ebola clinic in Liberia with sick people inside was stormed by an armed mob ,

and the infected people were scattered , sent home.

Then the armed mob proceeded to loot the clinic carrying off soiled sheets , bedding , instruments , taking all these

materiel back to their homes , contaminating themselves and consequently will be infecting all around them.

    Just give it a think.

All those patients chased off back into their communities with the message that Ebola is not real , that it's only a govt

conspiracy to extort money from the West , those patients now being cared for by their families , in deep ignorance ,

not aware of the most basic precautions.

Public education can no longer counter such attitudes. There's just not enough time. Martial law only way.

At the moment every day 50/60 deaths are recorded , and over a hundred new cases are tallied each day.

Many more die in the bush never having been seen by a caseworker , never having been 'counted'.

What would YOU suggest as a solution ?
