    Question Bones

I've not watched this series before, but it started while I was busy doing something else and I glanced up to watch it now and again.

The victim in today's case sells apple sauce and happens to be a part-time Escort. She apparently got killed by a 'jack the ripper' impersonator.

Now... they have what is left of the body and they get the news that she was also a part-time Escort. The guy says it is interesting and starts working out connections, while the lady says she would call it 'sad, not interesting'.

Later on in the programme they find she has some drug in her system and the conclusion is that she would of course use anything she could to kill the pain of being a prostitute and they were looking for her 'pimp'.

I can't believe this is a modern day series, with such shit attitudes. Every cliche in the book is being used or expected. I wonder if things will ever progress, or is the stigma here to stay?

Does anyone have any examples of a series where Sex Workers have been portrayed in a more realistic light?

In the fact that she was moving away from Sex Work and becoming a BETTER person. Not good enough. It was repeated again tonight.

Yea that was a good series some very funny moments on it. Diffinelty showed escorts in a different light to the way their usually and wrongly protrayed on film.

There were some real clangers with regards to protocol and professionalism, but yes she was not seen as a druggy or needing to ease the pain, so in that respect it wasn't bad at all. Thanks.

Keep in mind it is an American show made for hypocritical puritan American viewers where the righteous always prevail over the wicked in the end. They will never let the truth get in the way of a good story in order to score a good audience.
Over there bigotry is a way of life and it will get you every where!!

Thank you for such an objective assessment of American society.
I do what I want. I cannot do otherwise.

There was an Ausralian TV series called Satisfaction on back around 2008, 2009 about escorts in a brothel in Melbourne.
I only seen 2 or 3 episodes, but it was pretty rauchy from what i remember.
But i dont think the stigma will go away at this stage

On a different episode of bones...
