I too pondered this a while back and was informed I needed only three posts to join groups when I enquired with a moderator. Ah well, I'm one post closer to joining kylas group

Many groups are like fossils, relics of the past.
You need 10 posts to use the PM system here, to join groups or to thank other posts......... rules of the website, no more, no less.
And you're better off sticking to the phone anyway.
