Default 6 Years & 11 Months for beating somebody to death

What sort of a backward country do we live in when a man can beat his wife to death with a brick lie for months about it and then away with a ridiculously short sentence, and probably get it reduced for good behavior..Is our justice system on the verge of collapse?

if you pick up an implement and hit someone with it ,it should be treated as attempted murder and if the person dies then its murder, not manslaughter.

Ah Westie, It depends. Can they prove it was pre meditated, if not then manslaughter is the verdict. What a language. Anyone would think that Manslaughter would be worse than muder.

Maybe she tripped over the cat and hit her head off the brick that was lying in the middle of the floor put there by the policeman when he was making his contribution to a new patio she was building? The policeman panicked and decided to make up his own story.

Its the Director of Public Prosecutions that decides what type of charge is brought, if he had of been charged with murder , he may well have walked , no evidence to suggest that he was planning it, therefore it was always going to be manslaughter, they could of stuck on obstruction of justice, he tried to frame the young gardener, who subsequently made an attempt on his own life, and that wasted valuable police time.

I have felt from the the beginning that this was pre-meditated, he wanted shot of her for a very long time and he will not express any remorse for her passing, he thought himself better than most in his inner thoughts and deeply resented her control of Toytown productions and of her earning power too.

I suspect that no tears will be shed by him and he will view today as a victory

he will be out in April 2015, and Celine is dead, may he be judged by a higher power than on the Earth, what goes around comes around.

I have deliberately refrained from using his name

the arguments are stupid. The jury heard all the evidence. 12 ordinary men and women chosen at random from different backgrounds. They decided it was involuntary manslaughter. Whats the judge to do? Ignore their verdict and treat it as a murder case. This was democracy at play. The right to judge and be judged by ordinary people. What the fuck are you complaining about.
