Unhappy Limerick FC v Barcelona- (goddamn FAI)

Fucking Hell - What a massive pain in the bollocks.

For once an Irish team invites a more cosmopolitan bunch than Man U or Celtic or Sunderland and what happens.............

I think the fai are showing bias toward limerick and anywhere outside of dublin in general.I am sure they wud give the ok if it were any dub team vs barca in the aviva stadium. It wud have been a tremdous coup for limerick and the surrounding area, both in exposure and financal gain.

What else would you expect from Delaney? This is the guy that appealed to have Ireland's match with France replayed, and he was serious about it.

i asked a few friends of my that would know about local soccer and they all said that John Delaney has done a lot of work at local level through out the country and played with a local team in Tralee for a few years. To my the FAI have a right as they pay a lot of money to teams in the league of Ireland

Part of his brief is to do work throughout all levels of football in the country and, I am sure some good things have been achieved.
Why do the FAI have the right to stop a club from trying to raise funds to help their survival, in the way that Limerick managed to persuade Barcelona to play a match against them.

A local club in West Cork Dunmanway FC played a Liverpool XI in a pre season friendly last summer.
I dont remember the FAI raising any objections then.

That game didn't clash with any events in the Aviva Stadium.

As far as i know , the fai did a deal with a company that brings high profile teams to ireland . The same company have man u in the aviva to open it,
thats why my beloved limerick has been shafted and they using crowd control as excuse

Its a total sham. Its Barcelona. Eho cares if some otehr teams are playing in the micky mouse league of Ireland. Barce would bring in a lot of revenue for the city. They promised to bring their star players for the match. They want them to play in the Aviva stadium instead just to line their own pockets. the FAI are a total disaster
