Default Derek Davies Has Sadly Passed!

TV presenter, fisherman, gourmand and general all round nice guy, Derek Davies has sadly passed! He endured a long battle with diabetes which seemed to be under control!
He was an RTE newscaster and also fronted the live at 3 show with Thelma Mansfield, which apparently had the highest amount of available audience for any TV show in the world at the time!
He played the common man to her haughtiness!
Mind you, I have seen her around St Stephen's Green - She is an artist and sells her paintings there and she is fine MILF!
    DEREK RIP
    Ride them on the beaches!

A real gent, he had wit, intelligence, but could also laugh at himself. But I don't think his stature as in his size suited RTE and he was set aside. Shame, was a great presenter, made people feel at ease in his company. No ideas of grandeur with him, unlike some other RTE gobshites.

Not sure it was anything to do with his appearance. He had quite strong opinions on the north that didn't always align with the top brass in RTE

A good guy and very likable R.I.P.

Wink Sorry to contradict you but.......

Unfortunately I have an inside track here, and the RTE hierarchy have a code, (unwritten) but it is known, bald, overweight etc is a NO NO.

He was a sound guy and a credit to RTE but they couldn't see that, no big head unlike them other wankers at RTE

So they throw out the likable characters in favour of the shop window dummies.
