I knew the health service in Ireland is in a terrible state but i didn't realise how much till today when i was told of a situation close to home when the mother of a friend of mine was told she had two apple size tumours in her neck and had to wait a month for treatment as there was a waiting list i couldn't believe it...the doctor told her she should be starting it this week but just wasn't possible as there is a 30 day waiting list....such a bunch of clowns running this country

    The people put them there.

If you want to judge the strength of a country, look at the health service. We all know it is letting us down here, but we are not prepared to fund it and take on the vested interests.

Rest assured that proper, unaltered and unmanipulated statistics are something you will never see because if you did then you would have proof of the ineptitude that exists among the ranks of HSE management. And if you have proof as opposed to hearsay then you've got something that you could actually go after them with and do something about. That'll never happen because HSE management are well aware that their neck's are safe so long as they don't tell anyone the truth.

Of course the mechanisms within which they work allow them to lie to us which in itself is something I can never get my pea brain around. It takes massive effort and control to keep a secret as big as the internal mess that is the HSE, with so many people working there and with access to the real, unaltered information. With so many hands in so many pies I can't fathom how it is that more stuff doesn't leak out and make it into the public domain.

I know so many people who are on long waiting lists for months on end for pressing health concerns. It's terrible the way things are going. Doctors and nurses are also forced to work inhumane hours for depressing wages, that it's no wonder many move abroad to work.

If you are over 34 and have never had health insurance, you have until the end of the month to take some out and avoid the extra loading after May 1.
Health insurance or a couple of escort visits.
    Left hand-------------------Right hand
    Something to consider
-especially the further you are from 34.

As has been said earlier private health insurance is a must have in the Ireland of 2015. Otherwise welcome to slow painful
