    Default Arrests in Sligo

Last night I had 2 missed calls from a Garda station in Ballymoat, Sligo. When I called back they could not tell me what it was in connection with. This morning I learned that 2 girls had been arrested and brought to court for brothel keeping. If brought to court in this manner I can only assume that they signed a statement confirming that they were running a brothel. One of these ladies is a good friend of mine and of people regaularly on the chat here.

Can I just give this advice to all ladies. If arrested, ask to speak to the senior Garda on duty and insist on FREE legal aid. If you are not running a brothel do NOT sign anything. It may seem the easy way out but you will be brought to court, lose whatever has been confiscated, fined and maybe deported. NEVER sign anything, please, if you do nobody can help. If anyone has any news on the ladies please PM me.

Very important advice Mr Fussy, the Gardai seem to be making a sustained attempt to stamp out brothels in Sligo,
it would appear they have set their sights on getting rid of the organised element of prostitution there and unfortunately
some independent girls are also getting caught in the crossfire
    Blatant promotion should be outlawed
    but

Free legal Aid is decided on in the courts!
Every arrested person has the right to legal advice in a Garda Station!

I think it is very Important to discuss the dos and donts for the escorts caught in these situations. The gardai can be very harassing and persuasive. So how can you avoid signing when asked. What good is it to ask for the sergeant in charge. What rights exactly yo the gardai have

It's simple, they can ask you to come down to the station for questioning, if you refuse they can arrest you but you have the option to refuse, if you ask for a lawyer they will give you the story you will go to jail while you wait which is an intimidation tactic but Mr F is correct, don't sign anything, don't even let them into your property unless they have a warrant or the correct documentation, if you stand to one side of the door that can be construed as you inviting them so stay standing in the middle of the door blocking their entry or even walk into the hallway closing the door behind you.
