    Default Bloody do gooders!

This afternoon I took a break and decided to take a drive over to the coast line to take a few piccies. I'm driving my car down a narrow little road towards the sea and I notice a little cute dog tottering up in my direction. I'm looking for the owner, as it has a collar on, but no one to be seen.

The dog continues past me, totally unphased by the car and I slow down a bit feeling a bit puzzled by the situation and wondering what to do. I decide to drive on, as I didn't have much further to go (unless I wanted to drive into the sea) and thought I would look out for the dog on my way back and then decide what to do.

As it was the sea front was not the greatest for photography purposes and apart from some strange human wading in the water on what was quite a cold and over clouded day, there was really not much to photo, so with the concern and curiousity still in the back of my mind, I slowly head back up the road, mindful not to squish this little dog.

Sure enough further up the road I see this dog sniffing round a gate. I stop the car and it looks over at me with some excitement (not sure why). Notice that on the collar is a tab and hope that there is a phone number on it, so I open the car door and the doggie bounds in without any encouragement. I'm now worried someone is going to think I'm trying to steal the dog and quickly get about trying to get hold of the tab, so I can call the number on it.

After some faffing about I get the number and the phone is ringing and a lady answers. I ask her if she may have lost her dog and she said, 'possibly'! Not quite the answer I had expected. I had thought she might squeal with delight or cry with relief at the dog being found, but there you go. I asked her where I needed to go to return the doggie and she explained where to find her, which was the best part of a mile back down the road.

At last doggie and owner were reunited, along with a little black moggie that was waiting for its return. The lady thanked me and I told her roughly where I had found the dog only to be told that the dog often does this little walk, as he has a girlfriend up the road that he likes to go visit. So effectively I just took the dog away from it's journey to see it's gf and it was perfectly happy and didn't need my help at all.

The delights of living in rural Ireland! You get to roam free and visit your gf for nookie when ever you feel like it, but... only if you are a little doggie! And only if there isn't a crazy English woman roaming around picking you up in her car!

I'm not sure what the moral of this story is... but you never really know do you!

In a year or so that's going to be the police picking up a stray punter trying to make his way to his escort's door, reading the label ,n his wallet and returning him home to the wife.
She probably won't be that overjoyed to see him back either.
