    Default Here's an idea.....

I came online this morning and noticed a few spirited discussions that piqued my interest. While reading, certain things occurred to me.

This website is subject to the limitations of the internet in general, i.e. a lack of personal face to face social contact that makes us deem whether our comments or opinions are acceptable to those that read them.

The result is that arguments flower where there may not have been one had the tone of the comment been understood. This is also not helped by bad spelling.

Occasionally, this flowers into abuse, and very occasionally, into a repeated form of psychosocial behaviour that results in a repeated pattern.

So, I propose that Username and IP bans come into place for repeated offenders, regardless of who they are. If their identity becomes known using a different name/IP address, an immediate ban should follow.

    My reasoning is this.

There is a certain amount of trust involved in running/using a site such as this. If this trust is breached by a punter or escort threatening to reveal a persons identity or personal details, then that will harm both the victim and the site.

People prepared to act in this way do not deserve to use the service this site provides as they are a real threat.

EI, there are competitors. Using a harsh ban like this will make everyone feel safer. Not implementing it will make people go where they feel safer.

    Thank you for your time.

While I agree with your entire post, these are the parts I agree with the most. However I don't think much can be done about the tone of a comment being misunderstood. It would appear that it is a problem that is going to be around forever on Internet message boards.

Indeed... it's hard to gauge the mood of a written conversation. Several times I've been asked to chill out and wondered what I'd said!

I think now more so than ever, people crave information and are incredibly quick to gossip to other punters/escorts with personal information that was originally given to them in confidence.
For this reason, I don't believe that any escort should give a client any information about themselves, however innocent the question may have been, eg 'What do you do with your time when you aren't escorting?' or 'what do you your family think you are doing?'
There used to be a time when things were alot friendlier, but now I'm afraid that if somebody asks me a question, I'm inclined to lie in my answer or just not talk about it.

Like i said before, any escort that gives info about herself to a client regardless of how friendly they are needs her head examined. The key word here is client and sorry guys but if your a friend then you wont be calling in and seeing her in her escort capacity. Otherwise your a client not a friend. Of course im not saying all ppl have big mouths but i am saying that all it takes is one.

While I agree with what you say, acting upon this would be next to impossible because pretty much everyone using this site has a dynamic IP address that is assigned to them when they turn on their router. I know that a lot of the ISP's are letting you keep you IP for longer these days but it WILL change and if you happen to acquire a banned users IP then you are fucked (probably the reason for so many "where is **** I haven't seen him here for ages" threads. Also more and more people are using 3G cards from Vodafone, O2 & Meteor and if you ban someone using them they can just log out and acquire a new IP in seconds.

The only way to make sure you are banning someone and keeping them banned is by blocking their MAC address, but unfortunately that is never transmitted outside of your personal LAN so it's really a moot point.
