    Exclamation Members Reputation!

I just wanted to make everyone aware of the Member Reputation feature on these boards. We are all familiar with the Thanks button but very few seem to use the Reputation star (illustration below). The Member Reputation system allows you to leave comments about one anothers' posts, and thereby contribute to their overall 'reputation'. There are several levels one can achieve and it would help new users to distiguish the established / trusted members from the messers and trolls. Similar to the Trusted reviewer badge but solely controlled by all members as they are the ones that decide whether to add or take away from a members reputation.
You can view a members reputation by hovering your mouse icon over the small square box under the users name:

    REPUTATION LEVELS
User is infamous around these parts -99999
User can only hope to improve -50
User has a little shameless behaviour in the past -10
User is an unknown quantity at this point 0
User is on a distinguished road 10 (new users start with this level)
User will become famous soon enough 50
User has a spectacular aura about 150
User is a jewel in the rough 250
User is just really nice 350
User is a glorious beacon of light 450
User is a name known to all 550
User is a splendid one to behold 650
User has much to be proud of 1000
User has a brilliant future 1500
User has a reputation beyond repute 2000

So I hope you all start to use it as it's hard to remember all usernames so a quick look at your reputation would give others an indication of the quality of your previous posts without having to go looking through them!!

This could bias people to take the "popular" views more often though instead of making what might be good but less popular points.

It's totally anonymous as far as I can see, you can approve or disapprove of a the post and add a comment if you wish. When you go into Settings you will see a field with the latest Reputation you recieved and the Thread you recieved it on, it does not tell you who gave you the reputation, knor can anyone else see this field as it is unigue to your settings, so people are free to disapprove whatever views they wish, even if they are friends

Just wondering what stops a person from creating another profile and using this profile to make their first one increase up their own reputation even if they prob do not deserve it even if talk a load of bollocks.
I have lived a life of regrets.

That is something I have been woundering about myself, it's one of the features of vBulletin that has to be set up, not sure what the defaults are but as far as I have read, settings such how long you have to be a member before you can leave reputation and who can leave a negative one are some of the restrictions you can enforce. Maybe Patricia can have a look or get Pauli to?

Your right Elle, I just got a negative reputation from this thread the sooner the default settings are changed the better so these troll AH's can't mess with other peoples rep

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to anon361 again.
