Emails gone missing

hi all just wondering please did this ever happen to any one else i had 2,900 emails but when i checked eariler i only have 2,100 please can any one explain this why there gone missing thankyou all x x x

Emails that have been in your spam or thrash will be automatically deleted after thirty days
