Default Greatest Rock Guitarist Of All Time

    Now here's a toughie.

Amongst other instruments, I play the guitar (I also blow my own trumpet ) Who was the greatest rock guitarist ever? I tried to include a broad mix of musicians but mainly those whose works are still popular across the public spectrum and still with us after decades, so many modern guitarists didn't make my cut. Feel free to honourably mention such luminaries as:

Eddie Van Halen, Ritchie Blackmore, Tony Iommi, Chuck Berry, Brian May, Pete Townshend, and many more....

Phil Lynott, Gary Moore and Rory Gallagher are three that come to mind instantly.Larry Aglar (spelling was a great guitarist although not rock.BB King would be right up there too only not rock.

    Default Well

no surprise that Moore and Lynott along with Gallagher are on th epoll.I wouldnt put Lynott in the same category as the other two but i would give Gallagher the nod over Moore but barely. These would be my top three.

I think Gallagher was the best because he could play no matter what the cicumstances.
