Escort means to me sex with beautiful ladies from all around the world whenever I want.
The funny thing about this definition is that it is actually correct, except for the ridiculous bit about "coincidence", and yet, if a friend asked "I've heard you can make good money as an escort, what exactly does an escort do?", that would definitely not be a helpful reply.
Interesting no one was brave enough to come out and speak their minds.
An escort is a nice PC name for a prostitute, it allows those men who would never visit a prostitute to have their cake and eat it too. :)
Am I too late?

Dam I see Violette has gotten there first
More or less. Escort is a more restrictive term than prostitute, just as sex worker is a less restrictive term. Streetwalkers would normally be described as prostitutes but not as escorts. Cam girls would normally be described as sex workers, but not as prostitutes.
I don't have any problem with the meaning of the word prostitute, just with some of its connotations. I know I'm paying for sex. I've no illusions on that score. But prostitute is used as a verb to describe the activities of unsavoury types like politicians, and I wouldn't want to compare your honest work with what they do. Also, I can't quite get the etymology of the word prostitute out of my head. Prostituere is to put something or someone on display with a mind to selling it or them. When applied to a person, it reeks of the slave market. There is still some of that feeling left in French prostituée. Less in English, but still enough to put me off somewhat.
