Again, just to demonstrate who absurd this whole bill is, in the North, Lord Morrow had mentioned dating sites as being little more than covers for prostitution...

TonyB's point is a.good.one. I don't see how they could make a prosecution stick if they raid an apartment, catch two people obviously engaged in sexual activity, but they find no cash, or only tiny amounts.
If payment is done by some electronic means that they have not found, the case would fail?
Keep it Irish. ....just bring pot (ch) een.
Do people really believe that the authorities are in the slightest bit interested in independent girls and their clients. This law is aimed at brothels, criminal gangs and trafficking. That's why there hasn't been a single arrest in the north. A lot of the doom and gloom on here is mad stuff.
Large amount of truth in your post, sixfourblond. People are rightly concerned but things will probably go on as normal. Escort Ireland [and it is Escort Ireland, the other regions aren't generating much revenue, I would think] seem to be confident about the future, given the effort and money invested in this site.
There is a lot of absurdities in the law, and it will be hard to enforce in practice.
Every man and woman in a relationship or who are married are guilty according to that.
Damn... it boggles really the mind reading it, it's the height of stupidity the way it's worded.
"pays, gives, offers or promises to pay or give a person (including a prostitute) money or any other form of remuneration"
Okay, I'm going to offer every attractive female board member here a fee in exchange for sex... There, I just committed a criminal offense LOL :lmao:
For years the only targets for raids were brothels, criminal gangs and trafficking. Even independent girls sharing and therefore technically in a brothel haven't been touched. The authorities have only ever been interested in organised crime. All this scaremongering is scaring the girls.
