I have no interest in the Winter Olympics. The same way I'd have no interest in bowls, crufts or the Chelsea flower show. Doesn't BBC2 get some glamorous events :D I wouldn't be able to name you one competitor there. I wouldn't get excited if we win a medal in curling or bobsleighing.
Wow, that's a terrible accident.
But yeah, good luck to the Irish team. They might not win anything, but at least we're competing.
Well the Irish team got off to a brilliant start.
91st place behind such well known wintersports countries as Brazil and Bermuda.
Just great.
P. J. Barron competed in the 15km cross country skiing event in Vancouver yesterday, eventually finishing in 91st position.
P. J. admitted that his first 10km "wasn't so great". He finished in a time of 43 minutes. However he felt his debut at the Olympic Winter Games was "a great learning experience".
To compete at 20 years of age was a significant achievement in itself; most athletes reach their peak in their early thirtys.
Dario Cologna from Swithzerland claimed Gold with Italy and Czech Republic claimimg silver and bronze respectively.
