Exposing TORL Punters and Hypocritical Politicians

I was wondering what your views are on this one. Yes I know there is a sacred OMERTA between sex worker and client, but when you have hypocritical gobshites who use the services of sex workers but who also are pushing for legislation to destroy sex worker's lives and which will lead to an increase in trafficking and violence, then surely it is legitimate to expose them!
It's fairly common knowledge there are Oireachtas members who punt, if they don't support this madness, then problem but if they do (I know of 1 as do some of our wonderful ladies, no doubt) then, they should be told of the consequences!
BTW none of the great and the good of our society will ever face any sanctions for visiting an escort, that will be a punishment reserved for ordinary folk!

This is part of the debate amongst sex workers in Canada at the moment. Terri-Jean Bedford and other sex workers are in two minds as to whether they'll release the names of politicians who supported C36 Bill - many escorts are not in favour in principle as ,as you say, breaks the necessary element of discretion that both parties need.

A bit like Terri Keane and the goodies she had on Haughey as her 'pension' plan. Wouldn't surprise me if some escort does eventually break a story about politicians but may not in fact release names for some sort of quid pro quo.

Just to clarify, Emmet Stagg will DEFINITELY not be one of those politicians who sees escorts.

Maybe there are TDs , guards etc that visit ladies and in public HAVE to support the party line , we dont know if or when they work behind the scenes to help some of the ladies here , how many times have any of us voiced our support of escorts in public ? To friends ? To family ?

I wouldn't agree with that at all, wreck a guys life for what, so it can turned that escorts are not to be trusted and the whole lot are an unsavoury element of society. Could blow up in their faces big time if they done that.

While there are plenty of reasons to jump down the throats of our political classes and the so-called pillars of our society for their hypocricy it's a bit much for people on this forum to call for their public support for sex workers while hiding behind anonymous usernames and avatars on here

THe difeference is that politicians are SUPPOSED to base their support on evidence of best practice . Politicians are not supposed to cover up abuses in Sweden to protect a lobby group. They are - whilst beating their chest about the need to address irish prostitution.

If Leo Varadkar can tell people he is gay, surely other TDs can admit to enjoying the time and companionship of professional?

It would be a major mistake to expose anybody - in my opinion. It wouldn't change policy and would probably only serve to reinforce the arguments of those in favour of the law on criminalisation. If anybody is to be exposed let the law and the media do it and that way just maybe people will see the real crime is to demonise people and ruin their lives for nothing. The law will come in, lives will be ruined, people will be hurt but - maybe, people will eventually see the light.
