Holiday Advice - is Playa Del Ingles a good bet for meeting girls?

hi all
have been thinking of treating myself to a well earned week away from it all in October, I was wondering if any of you had experience of hols in GC, esp Playa del Ingles...been googling and in the forums I know there's a kinda strange place there called the yumbo? which appears to be the gay centre of entertainment...but I'd love to meet tgirls to socialise (and that's not same thing at all imo)
