DO you think that people that gamble on horses/poker etc and people that use the services of an escort have a connection? Do you think it might have something to do with the thrill or adrenaline rush achieved from both?

As I don't gamble there is no connection between the two in my case.......but a good way of saving yourself some money, both as regards women and gambling, is to ride horses and back women. :D:D:D

Been to Vegas a handfull of times and won a bit of cash. Not a whole lot mind, I'm a little too sensible to gamble that much.
Walked away one trip just under 10k better off. -

Have to admit that I have been know to gamble on pretty much everything.
Horses, soccer pools, football, 2 flies climbing up a wall, everything really.
I love poker as well.
Gambling does have a rush but I would agree that its a different rush to punting.
The main connection I see between gambling and punting is the addiction factor.
Both highly addicitive rushes. -

I like poker and the odd flutter nothing too serious though. Definitely spend more on punting I have to admit. Its the feel good factor I suppose, both are quick fixes with a bit of risk involved. As long as I don't lose my shirt on either i'm happy.

Gambling is a very powerful addiction and as I think it was Kerrylad who said he's gambled on everything, i.e. Two flies up a wall. With gambling the first step to recovery is to admit that we are powerless over our gambling and that our lives had become unmanagable. There is a definite connection in that the whole E-I scenario is also a powerful addiction, the only way I could stop is to be permanently banned. Through the family one can satisfy all the basic needs of a human being, to love and be loved, to cherish and be cherished, to provide and be provided for, to give and receive, to feel wanted and feel needed. All the basic needs of a human being can be realised through the interaction of a family who love one another. Unfortunately, this all goes the window, when an addiction takes over, you're on another planet to your partner. You don't see her, because you're so full of your own selfish agenda and she is like a flower that begins to wilt, the gambler won't even buy her a bunch of flowers, in fact he won't spend any of his winnings at all, he wants to keep it for further betting (the poor devil thinks he can multiply it).
But your partner may well give a gambler a second and third chance, but if she ever found out that he was with an escort, he surely get the boot, I have to say quite rightly so. That is a gamble that a married man is taking, it's a big gamble, probably the biggest on he's likely to take in his life.
So QueenBee, I feel the thrill of gambling is indeed very exciting with a massive adrenaline rush, where as the thrill I feel is different with escorting, if your a married man, you just want to get home safely and carry on with a conscience with your Jekyll and Hide lifestyle, being in bed with an exotic creature is of couse a thrill in itself. But alas I could have it all wrong. :) -
