Awwwwwwwwwwww
Is all that extra football tiring out our overpaid divas?
On a more serious note, I have never had any respect for Blatter, and am suspicious of his motives.
Like the article says, reverting to 90 minutes increases the chance of a team playing defensively, because there is substantially less chance of conceding a goal within 90 mins.
The root problem is that now there is so much money involved, that teams cannot contemplate taking any chances. If a team loses through a penalty shoot-out or toss of a coin (same thing, basically), then nobody gets blamed.
One solution is that only the winning team gets points. If it is a draw, the team with less fowls committed wins.
Whatever the solution, it has to favour the atttacking team.
they should abolish extra time for home and away knock out ties it is unfair to team playin away in 2nd leg ie france ireland last yr
England has no chance now against the Germans if it's straight to penalties :D
