EOTM is sexist and no longer relevant and should be scrapped...discuss

Like the Rose of Tralee, does EOTM have anything to offer any more?
It was fun at first but has since long expired its sell by date.

A bit like the Oscars, those that win it are delighted and those that dont, claim they dont care (Oh but they do!)

Its not even really the "best escort", rather just the escort with the most good reviews, and as reviewing an escort is so random (Its rare for an escort to see 3 clients a day and get a single review,, let alone 3)

Its just so completely arbitrary and has nothing to do with being the best, more to do with getting a small pool of reviewing punters exhausted from their exertions, to log on and go through some strange tick box homework.
Theres no lapdance contest, no swimwear contest, no plea for world peace or offering an opinion on brexit using only a sex toy, body paint, rubber gloves,wet wipes and an ABBA cd

In my day, young aspiring EOTM's would spend hours in front of the mirror, honing their skills using a hairbrush. But now, its just become a gentle parody of its former self

The client cant even use it as a guide to getting the best punt o

So, should it be scrapped, kept as is or rebooted?

EOTM rewards those that consistently do well, but only for those that see a lot of new clients and fairly high volume. It does not reward those that aim to keep their clients and see the same clients on a regular basis. Admittedly this may change with the fact that clients can now review more than once to the same sex worker, but in my experience with another site that has always done this you may get a new review periodically, but not with every visit, as it becomes tedious and unnecessary to repeat what has already been said.

The fact that so many clients don't use the forum or choose to review (which is understandable in the North) it does make it a little bit of a Ireland game now and not something all can be involved with.

Maybe it would be nicer to have something like a 'Sex Worker' of the week award like a 'spotlight' where the spotlight is given them for whatever reason (I have no idea what that might be). Maybe for helping someone who was in trouble or for guidance. Supportive with where to stay or a place to stay if someone is kicked out of their hotel. Kindness could be the goal instead of numbers through the door :)

I've heard some lovely stories about sex workers on this site that have helped others out and that never gets rewarded. Even clients could nominate sex workers for something like that. Maybe they would need to have 3 nominations to qualify or something.

You might think that it's a crap idea, but it's got so dog eat dog recently. You never know, it might encourage people to be a bit nicer to each other?

I love the idea of nominating and awarding people for kindness, however not sure how we would make this competition open to all the advertisers, not only the forum users.
There are many advertisers who are not active on the forums.
The nominations would have to be done elsewhere, not only limited to the boards.
I will put this idea forward up for discussion.
Would invite everyone who has got any ideas to voice them here.

Going back to the multiple reviews.
Regular clients can leave one review every 7 days.
This is provided different bookings took place, with a minimum 7 days gap.
To limit the abuse of the EOTM scoring system, it is only the first review that counts towards the competition.

Could that be posted somewhere on the site so people know?

Also, was there ever any more thought put into being able to not publicly show a review location? (as in it can be shown to the escort and admins, but hidden from public view)

What about client of the month, where the client wins a free month of hoop :)

The new system is more like feedback than reviews.

Can't they do that anyway? I mean ring up a client and ask them to leave a review even if they are not seeing them? It's no more a joke than it already is in that sense.

ETOM should be abolished.
There would be less drama on the boards if it was done away with.
This is a escort directory of service providers who provide the customer with services.
If there is a monthly competition it should be for the client not the service provider.

Escort of the year sounds like a better idea.
And it rhythms to.

Whoever wins escort of the year should get a free months advertising.

It may be excluding those that do not post on the forum, but you are neglecting the fact that the present system neglects those that give consistently good service to regulars rather than new clients. Over a period of one year to have continual 5 star rating would be a much better indicator than over one month if you want to work it like that? Is it quality or quantity that we are advocating here?

It's also much less likely that people would engineer reviews to work within the same month if there was not such a brief window of time to achieve the goal. Sex Workers would be looking at long term consistently high service which can only benefit the clients.

I don't think a sex worker would have to be on the site to be nominated for doing something kind either. It is only the person nominating who would need to do that and if they feel strongly about that act of kindness then they can do that. I have encountered one lady who did not post on here who I found to be very helpful and kind to me when I first worked in Cork and I may have happily of nominated her with a brief description of what she did for me if that had been a possibility. You could then put that nomination on an excel spread sheet and store it until there are 2 more nominations for her (which may never happen) and at that time she would get a 'spot award'.

I've never really understood why quantity has been rewarded on here. The fact that often the winners are here for short periods of time or don't win a gain for a long period of time shows that it is not about consistency and to be fair it would be crippling to see that many people all the time, so it's not healthy for the sex worker to do that either. In my eyes, it is not showing responsibility, awareness or appreciation for the sex worker and encouraging sex workers to see more clients than perhaps they are comfortable with.

That might be due to me getting old, but even young sex workers need a break and a bit of 'me' time, even if they have the energy to keep going.
