I'll stick with it for the moment :D
http://www.connachtrugby.ie/
i was referring to the fact that the song is not about connaught mate...(you spell connaught in the rugby spelling..dont worry i cant spell) but i was just saying the song is not about connaught...its not a spell check mate...look dont worry ...tis fine buddy...(comforting hug)...tis fine... pmsl
as I said the fact that it's not about Connacht doesn't bother me as I didn't watch the show. But in regard my spelling I think you'll find that the correct spelling of the province is Connacht and not Connaught :p
Cheers for the hug, next time I'll make sure to give you a reach around
no bother....back to the point though...i was referring to your comment that the fields of athenry was a song about connaught (its not about spelling..but still..lol) i was just telling you the song is not about connaught ...now about that hug...im here buddy.
This is about the 3rd or 4th time this programme has been repeated
jesus christ , ive read the start of this thread , its illiterate,.......and you pussys followed by posting comments on what is incomprehensible,,,what the fuck are you saying........rte origins of song....wheres the link to what rte has discussed about the origins of the fucking song???
I've had a look back over the drivel you've posted and still can't see what question you are on about, please spell it out for me instead of talking in riddles. If you want to change my signature then nope, have a look at what it links to, go take it up with Peeping Tom. But if it's Nyan Cat you wnat rid off well then, enjoy

i was just commenting on the bit before the like to peeping toms link...the bit saying"i am always right"..at the time it was a joke....but i see you have trouble admiting when your wrong...ahh well... perhaps its easier if i just get a new signature tomorrow...no problem buddy...lol
didn't see the show but here is a wiki link to it
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fields_of_Athenry
I've admitted I didn't see the show so know nothing of the history of the song bar what I am just after reading on wiki, I have no problem admitting when I am wrong and do it any time I am.
Anyway, you were the one prattling on about spelling when you live in Galway and don't even know the correct spelling of your own province :lmao:

are you blind, ignorant or just trolling? I have asked you to point out specifically what I am wrong about and if I am then no probs. also after reading that wiki article and what ber posted I see that the song is about some lad from near Athenry that got deported or is about to. Anyway the fact he's from Connacht does that not make the song anyway about the province?
Also, when are you going to admit you can't spell the name of the province you live in?
a miserable dirge - an awful tune
We bate um Benny
We bate um Goodo
We bate um Leinster Bastards...
Ah ... the memories.... that felt good...
Nighty tighty Riclesby....
athenry is in connacht (glad to see I taught you how to spell), the song is about a man getting deported for thieving from the brits and while he is waiting he is reminiscing about the place. So from what I hear in the lyrics, is that the guy is dreaming about a place in connacht so I took from it that it was. If that is not correct then I am wrong simples.
We bate um Benny
We bate um Goodo
We bate um Leinster Bastards...
Now feck off......
