Contraction; when tou make a word or phrase smaller; Do not To don't.
Portmanteau; when you join two words to make one; Macjob or Frankenfoods.
Now some wiseass has informed me that there is a word to describe that missing
Apostrophe that changes a sentances meaning, and by all accounts historicaly was
responsible for starting a conflict. You know the one I mean, I am sure we have
all sent texts or posted,,, and on re-reading we notice the absence of an apostrophe
So is there a word to describe this forlorn and much maligned punctuation?????
