Garda's laptop found in Amsterdam brothel

''A chief superintendent has been appointed to examine a bizarre case where a bag containing a computer and documents belonging to a garda was found in a brothel in Amsterdam.

The Sunday World can reveal that a senior officer is investigating the circumstances surrounding an apparent security breach, where the garda’s laptop ended up in a Dutch knocking shop.

Sources say that the madame of the brothel found a bag in her premises last month and opened it.

“It apparently contained a laptop, documents and also insignia that identified the owner as being a member of An Garda Siochana,” the source revealed yesterday.

She contacted the local police in Amsterdam and they launched an investigation to try to have the laptop returned to its rightful owner.''

Gardai making their organisation look foolish

why wood you bring a laptop in with you, must be sumthing, surely leave it in the boot of car or under the seat.

Maybe he was going to do a review straight away.

Dunno man, what kind of thief leaves a laptop behind them?

I think that the Garda was just so shocked to see this sort of carry on that he blanked out, and when he woke up, he was in the middle of the brothel, dazed and confused, and stumbled out of the door not knowing his name nor what day of the week it was. That's why he lost his laptop and all his police clobber.

He was deep undercover!
