Fucking feminists
Well done Ian O Doherty, I never thought that I would sing the praises of a journalist, but this guy has put together a very, concise, non judgemental article which reeks of good old common sense.
I willing made an informed personal decision to become an escort, nobody coerced me, I work of my own free will & it will be my decision when to stop. I am not a victim nor do I need 'rescuing'. I am white, but I wouldn't consider myself from a privileged background, I come from a working class family. I am educated, I even went to University, I knew exactly what I was doing when I started working as an escort.
My solution to the trafficking problem, as I said many, many times before, is make every sex worker buy a licence. The true independent will have no issues with having to buy a licence to work in Ireland. Traffickers would run a mile if they had to buy licences for their girls. It would be much more cost effective for the government, easier to police for the Gardai, hence a 'win win' situation all round.
The thousands & thousands that has been spent on this legislation is ridiculous, a licence system could be up & running in no time with very little outlay.

The last time I read an ian o doherty struggle was several years ago and was pertaining to his opposition of coursing. His article was just factually wrong. If ian o doherty is on your side than you r probably on the wrong one.
For posts in a row! Am I non pareil in disguise?
the comments are interesting too in the article.
what i always find fascinating is how people adjust their prejudices. those for criminalizing the buyer say that prostitution is wrong, but then if you point out that every relationship or marriage is prostitution itself, and they will say that it is an acceptable form of prostitution.
People are kind of strange. they decide what is right and wrong to suit their desires. so a woman selling her body for hard cash is wrong, but a woman who gets bought a new pair of louboutins by her boyfriend is in love or whatever( even though its a trade all the same). They cant say prostitution is wrong and say relationships are acceptable. both are the same thing, but one is accepted and one isnt

Ian O Doherty is a "contrarian" just like Tumbleweed.
Although Tumbleweed did use a more apt word to describe Doherty a couple of posts ago.
You are spending way too much time in the company of the soulless mercenaries that populate this forum, to such an extent that you question whether love exists and try to degrade it to some kind of trade. My sincere advice is to leave this forum. It's why I spent a while on the dr phil forum. I am now permanently barred from the dr phil forum hence my return here.
I am busy writing a few posts in a row ;-)
The weed has rolled on.
I see what started out as another serious thread is steadily going down hill :(
The storm has passed.
