Phone scam take care

Guy and Ladies, there is a phone scam targeting,sex workers and punters,it may not have got here yet though.

What happens is ,either with SW cooperation or using small device outside apartment block. The phone numbers are intercepted both incoming and outbound, but mostly incoming and phone gets a call back, short missed call.If you CALL this number back you are through to a computer, which will automatically call a premium sex line you will not know but all your credit is soon gone, and it keeps trying every few days to see if you top up.

The numbers are prefixed either +26 or +25 and are making millions and involve all sorts of nasty people.

I know sometimes I would call lady and if she was busy get a quick missed call, and I would call back, just be careful and check number, I know I did not always.

If you get a missed call from an East African number, why in the name of any deity would you just ring back?

Granted if you don't have numbers saved you're not going to recognise it by looking, but jesus, if you don't notice the lack of +44/+353 you near deserve to be ripped off as a lesson not to be so dumb.

I thought as a generality escorts didn't return calls?

Not everyone knows it is a Mali number and as I said sometimes you just call back,and if you check with cell company where your money went they will tell you sex call,so you will not follow it up. If you are calling escorts then they figure you may call sex lines as well. Listen I just put it on, advice if you do not want to follow it ok, by the way do you never get calls from anywhere apart from Ireland/ UK?

Being honest I do not check where call is from, just hit recall. Scam has probably not got to here yet anyway. But just be careful.

If the number starts with anything other than +44 I'll reject. Hell, with the amount of nuisance calls originating in the UK I'll pretty much reject any call from the London prefix also.

I've had enough of the "Jason from Microsoft technical department" or PPI bullshit to give then the time of day.

i have a phone for "fun purposes" only, any lady i contact on it i save the number, so when they call or txt i know who it is, I NEVER answer a number I dont know, not even on my "proper phone".

This is complete and utter horse shit, if a scammer is going to intercept numbers why only target punters? Why not scam all of Grafton St? How the scammers know it's the punters no. and not just some randomer in the apartment/hotel?
If I'm stupid enough to call this number and loose all the credit on my punting phone that's one thing, but my phone has no way of repeatedly calling the scam number, so once I realise I've been scammed I won't call that number again.
If I do report the scan how will my mobile provider know I only call escorts from that phone and put two and two together and say well you ring escorts so you must also ring sex line.

There are scams out there that work on missed calls and when you ring back you get a premium number, but that's the only part of the original post that's correct.
