Is it better to punt away from where you live or work?

Ok dublin might be ok because of its size but the smaller cities you could run into someone you know in an appartment

That would depend if you wanted me to come to your office after working hours!!!!
Also why would you not know where you friends lived - apartments etc., Hotels
