Distinguished Road etc

Can someone please explain the methodolgy of the changing status of the little green icon below a members name on a thread.:confused::confused:

Most have............**** is on a distinguished road.
Recently I noticed a 'dubious' mark in the settings on my profile, relating to a post that I had made.
The little green icon then said.......Forrest is an unknown quantity, or something like that.
Today it says......Forrest will become famous soon enough.

I have seen that comment on Carlos Marvado's and Luther's icon.

How is this determined.:confused:

I think is a measure of how many times you have been thanked in your posts.
It's a reputation bar.
The more you post useful stuff the more people will thank you I guess. It's on the bottom left.

Thanks for your reply Dave, but I don't think the number of 'thanks' you get is the full answer.
I was hoping one of the mods might have been able to enlighten me but they must be too busy enjoying the sunshine today.

I saw you ask Forrest but I don't know exactly how it works or is measured. Luthers the man knows all about the features here.

It's all about your reputation level and how many times people click the star to add to it, mind you there is negative settings yet there is no negative star to take away from a members reputation:confused:

Here are the levels..

REPUTATION LEVELS:

User is infamous around these parts -99999
User can only hope to improve -50
User has a little shameless behaviour in the past -10
User is an unknown quantity at this point 0
User is on a distinguished road 10 (new users start with this level)
User will become famous soon enough 50
User has a spectacular aura about 150
User is a jewel in the rough 250
User is just really nice 350
User is a glorious beacon of light 450
User is a name known to all 550
User is a splendid one to behold 650
User has much to be proud of 1000
User has a brilliant future 1500
User has a reputation beyond repute 2000

On a side note, I used to have this one before they installed the new update :sad:

I was not aware of the purpose of the star in relation to the reputation bar at the top. I wonder how many other people knew, before now.
I only asked the question in the first place because I noticed a negative comment(dubious) in my profile settings over a comment on another thread. Then, yesterday, I got a boost to my 'reputation' through the weekend humour thread, and didn't know the 'how'. Thanks to Anon and your good self I am totally clued in now, and don't say "Its about time" :D

Ok which one of ye put "know all" in the comment box when adding to my reputation :lmao:
