Email Notification of New Private Messages Is Not Working

In the settings it says "the forum can send a message to your email address to inform you when someone sends you a private message."

I use to receive an email when someone sent me a PM. This was handy as I am not always logged on here and so a PM could be languishing in my PM box unopened for some time before I log on again.

I have checked my settings and this feature is switched on — but I am not receiving the notification emails. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Yes I have a problem with getting private messages as well. Trying to sort that out for a while. I was promised that I will be called by the website and fix the issue, but somehow they always forget. I receive messages only from certain users and the others that try to send me private messages can't.... Xxx

AFAIK I'm getting all the PM's that are being sent to me — I'm just not getting notified by email that I have a PM waiting for me.

For me it's the other way round. I get email notices but don't get the PMs

I know...tried to call to fix this issue several times but no one paid attention to what I said. I wonder why...took them two months to fix my community forum profile.

I notice whenever I get a PM that has some residual tags inside, such as <br>, I get no notifications whatsoever.
When the PM looks normal, I do get notified.

I was about to ask as well what the heck happen with the PM system?

The PM with the tags inside such as <br> will probably have been sent from your profile page by clicking on "PM me" and will have a title something like "Private Message from Petros" (if it was from me)

The PM's without the tags are ones sent from the users own page and will have a custom title. It is these ones that I'm not getting an email notification for.
