i`ve noticed that dublin has 29 escorts offering 180 p\h services at this date in time in dublin, whilst in cork ,no escort is doing the 180 per hour deal.
taking into account that dublin has 215 independent escorts at present to corks 52 independent escorts--roughly a quarter of dublins---you might imagine that there would be at least 3 escorts doing the 180 p\h deal --1\17 th(seventeenth) 0f total independents in cork.whilst in dublin it`s 29 out of 215 which works out roughly as 1\7(seven) of total offering the 180 euro per hour deal

Such is the effect of Supply and Demand. If you had one escort in Cork, I dare say she would be charging €400-€500 and getting it.

The ratios don't mean that much is reality. The fact is that Dublin punters have in the region of 30 female escorts, or nearly 15% of the total providing a 1 hour basic service at €180 or less and therefore, a fair proportion of punters for one reason or another, will have no reason to look any further than this group.

Competition in Cork obviously has not reached the stage yet, where escorts need to reduce prices to those levels in order to remain competitive.

Two factors that the original poster did not mention:

1. Given the small number of escorts in places such as Kerry, Tipperary, east Waterford, the catchment area for escorts based in Cork City is probably larger than just Cork (city and county)

2. Quite a few members from Cork have constantly complained here about the number of "independent" escorts in Cork who are actually agency, therefore the level of actual competition in Cork may be lower then it seems as a number of large agencies could operate a cartel-like system.

1: 1,662,536. is the pop of greater dublin area I think in popualtion the terms dublin has greater
catchment

I would expect an independent escort to make that claim about other escorts, but if it were true, your ratios should be borne out in similar type pricing structures between Dublin and Cork. The fact that they are'nt would indicate that the markets are operating very differently between Dublin and Cork and that what you and others are saying about Cork is correct.

Another reason why prices are lower in Dublin, is that non-EU escorts need a student visa etc to stay in the country, and as most of the larger language schools are in Dublin, so are the escorts. Plus if they want to remain studying here, they need a high attendance record in order to be successful when they reapply for a further student visa. Therefore during term time, their mobility is somewhat restricted.

I don't know carlos, your theories seem a bit made-uppish. First it's "supply and demand", then it's that the demand doesn't really matter, only the supply. There are so many punters in Dublin that there are surely people there that would spend more for an hour.

You don't want to fall into the trap of making up theories about it after the fact, selecting the reasons that suit you and throwing off the ones that don't. I'm not sure also about "ratios should be borne out in similar type pricing structures between Dublin and Cork" if there are agencies in Dublin, they could be different types of agencies or maybe the pricing structures are similar in some ways.

They are'nt theories as such, just possible explanations for the difference between Cork and Dublin. Even if you take countries/cities which have much larger populations i.e. demand potential, such as major cities in the Netherlands and Germany, if you also have large numbers of escorts working there, then an increased level of competition tends to result in lower prices. In a recession, with spending power reducing, there is also a trend of looking for less expensive products and services, which will increase the downward pressure on prices the most in areas with the greatest competition i.e. Dublin in this case. Supply and Demand still applies, but there are quite a few factors which feed into the Supply and Demand equations. Ratios are simply too crude a means for making comparisons. In this case, the recession will impact to differing degrees in different parts of the country and between different business or industry sectors. Example: house prices in Dublin were on average the highest nationality which probably meant that mortgages were also on average the highest and that the whole issue of negative equity now affects Dublin to a much greater degree.
You also have to look at the ratio of women to men in certain age categories in both cities.....maybe it's easier to go out of an evening and get what you like for free in Dublin which has a bearing on the demand side.
