Herzog's "Nosferatu the Vampyre" used a haunting folk song from Georgia (no, the country!) as part of the soundtrack. Track it down if you can - sung by a choir, it's a stunning peice of music.
The woman in the video is Aphrodite herself (or Isabelle Adjani by day).

It would have to be Barber's Adagio for Strings. Imo it's pretty much perfect. Only shame it's being over used in films and butchered by dance artists.
