A 17 years old Russian guy came up with the idea of "Chat Roulette". When you visit the site your web camera is automatically turned on and you are connected to a random stranger on the Internet - so you can hear and see each other. You don't like what you see? No problem, just click Next and you are connected to the next random stranger.
Apparently a large percentage of the participants are just crazy perverts that want to show their private parts to random strangers, but then there are some truly bizarre sights to be seen as well.

Sounds kinda dumb to me. I think the way forward for chatrooms is where you can see everyone who has a webcam automatically, like: Tinychat - Free online video chat rooms.

The appeal of chat roulette is not that you can chat with people - it is the excitement of not knowing who you will see next. Kinda like Russian roulette, but without the bullets.
