can most women spot fake watches and jewellery?

I was at my club the other night with a pal and we struck up a conversation with a couple of young ladies, when the lady talking to my pal made an excuse and left. Soon after we noticed her talking to someone else, so I asked her friend if something had happened or been said? She laughed and said that her friend had .noticed my pal was wearing a fake watch, and she liked men with real money.
I just laughed back and said well you are still here and she said well I like you and your watch is real and really expensive!

My pal and me laughed about this later as he is actually more successful than me, he just wears a fake sometimes because he has been mugged before.

So what I want to ask is. Can most women spot a fake watch?

Of course we can . Is the same if you ask if a monkey can spot banana on the fruit basket .... We have good eyes for those things . But she sounds to me more of a gold digger than anything else . To have to get to the point to say it out loud that even you guys found out ....

we we all talk about that , I suppose that's where discretion comes from huh?!?Certainly things has no need to be said .

Oh we are both well used to it :D occupational hazard shall we say of being successful and enjoying some of the benefits. The right lady you don't mind spoiling, but some don't always fit in to our circles and can be embarrassing.

We sometimes are naughty and wind up the gold diggers. They are easy to spot.

But yes, these two were surprisingly open and didn't get chauffeured home
