About new law coming next year

I understand that any new law coming in must first be approved by both the Senate and the Parliament and signed by the president before it can become law. This law has several steps to take before it reaches this stage according to a lawyer I spoke to. He said that it is unlikely to be in force in the coming year. More likely 18 to 24 months if the full process is followed. The full process means a final draft of the law must be approved by the parliament and the senate. Then it must be given to the Attorney General to make sure it fits with the constitution before being finally signed into law by the Government and the president.

That I assume applies to the Republic? I'm not sure why it is a warning though? It's already known that the Republic is behind the North in the stages and the North still have 5 stages to go, which also includes amendments and the general feeling is Summer 2015 for that, so it is highly unlikely that the Republic will be before 2016 before any changes are implemented.

Lets hope for a government crisis in the near future so this loses momentum

The law will be introduced in Summer 2015 as the Minister wants to move as quickly as she can with this. I imagine it will be a month or two after the North.

If you go by polls, it will be a SF-FF coalition and both their parties have mandates for this law.

No nothing so far. It's been business as usual, although some clients are waiting to see how it goes, but I imagine most will be back after the School hols, if nothing happens before then.

They will try and fast track a case through courts to set example, but they will want it to be air tight. When people find out to what extreme the cops have to go to get the evidence, there might be an outcry of sorts. It will come across draconian
