Anyone know why

Anyone know why my Iphone 4 has decided to swallow some not all incoming texts ? ?
I can see the text come in then its gone , if i happen to see the senders name , then find it in my contacts the text is there , but obv im not sat watching my phone 24 / 7 so Im probably missing a lot of texts .
I Apologize to anyone Ive not replied too .x

Mine did something similar with email a while ago.
Try the old trick of holding the power and main round button down for about 20 seconds together till it does a hard reset.

My 4 used to do the same, then just rectified itself.
No issues with the 5.
