The two men accused of indecent conduct in front of Rome’s historic Coliseum, have had a two month prison sentence commuted to a fine.

In July 2007, Michele (28) and Roberto (34) insist they were simply kissing when police found them on the Coliseum square. The kiss was amplified to “obscene sexual acts” by the police in question, which mobilised LGBT activists to organise a kiss-in in defence of the right to public display homosexual affection.

Although, the court’s recent decision is being respected, the case is far from closed. “We hope that simple displays of affection or kisses are not punishable offences” explains Fabrizio Marrazzo of the Roman Gay Center.

The two men will appeal the fine.

Would it have happened if they were heterosexual?

What do you think?

And what a shame that is, the homosexual community go through a lot of effort for equal rights, sometimes though the narrowminded do put our society to shame.

Homosexuality is found in over 1500 species. Homophobia is found in only 1.
Which one seems unnatural now?
