Has anyone ever encountered a gay man going to a woman for a sexual service? I have had several during the course of my career and just wondered how common or uncommon it is.

Coincidently I was listening to the radio the other day and while I missed the beging of the segment there was a lady speaking on behalf of an American organisation that supports the right of a gay person to choose to become straight, an unusual organisation I would have thought but she seemed to put a straight forward explanation forward as to why one would need such support.
With that in mind I have no doubt some gay people may grow older and realise the path they took maybe by entering a gay relationship at an early age is not for them or not exclusively for them and they wish to take an easy way to experiment without the need for commitment the same way heterosexuals see escorts for no commitment issues.

Perhaps they are just experimenting, to see what it is like? (delayed college experience ;)

Yes, that could be one explanation. But I think, just as you have homosexual men living a heterosexual lie, I think so do you have homosexual men doing the same, they may be more bi-sexual and will to have a relationship with either sex, but in some instances when in a same sex relationship there is the pressure to be 100% gay.

Plus it would be very easy to be trapped in the 'gay community' as it seems you need to tell the world your gay, but if you realise you are acually bi or straight you end up shunned by both sides. Personal experience tells me that.

If so you are bi-sexual and not full gay.

I wonder how many gay women are currently working in Ireland as escorts right now, "straight for pay". I strongly suspect there are some.

Of course. It only makes sense.

Yes. In evil moments in the past, I've considered dropping that one into the perennial "but what if my professional escort doesn't like me?" threads to see if I can raise the levels of angst and self-loathing
