Turn Off The Red Light | Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/turnofftheredlight?sk=wall)

This is the facebook page for the Turn off the RED light camapign. How would people feel about posting something on it? I have just posted a link to the Turn off the BLUE light campaigns facebook page with a simple request that people read it. I'm not going to try and start a heated debate (although I'm up for one :p) but simply put it out there for people to read the other side.

It would be great if we could get some escort testimonials up on the site soon too as I feel people will respond to them.

They will probably delete anything that is posted in opposition to them , the real avenue to combat their campaign will be through the media and writing and protesting to politicans.

Perhaps- although that will just prove how narrow minded they are. If my post was visable it would show itself to be very respectful. I don't think it has been deleted as I can still see it- maybe it needs to be approved which will never happen of course.
Sadly I don't think the media are very likely to support the escorts and advertisers probably won't go near it with a shitty stick (excuse my french). It's gunna be down to protests of course0 it's just so difficult as a high number of us need to protect our anonynimity. I wish I could march up them in full suspenders and undies and give them my 5 cents.

id love to protest in me undies to but if id had me head copped off it would be grand, thats the problem girls would protest etc but how do you do that and keep your identity private
It was something you said that gave me the idea lol. It's hard as we do need to keep our privacy. There is a "face" to the opposition but not really one for us. I don't know if we could use masks or something lol. I would happily parade around if I could cover my face. Videos we need to start making for sure. Violette mentioned youtube which is a great idea.

it really is a tough one, ita pitty that just a few people probably really believe in this law but others will follow because they are afraid to be associated with the indusrty.

I was thinking more along the lines of escorts being interviewed wearing balaclavas or stockings over their heads (but nothing else) and holding a condom in one hand and a strap-on in the other. Laugh not.......a not too dissimilar strategy has worked in the past.

The other possibilty is, we all invite one of our local male TDs around to our houses, get them well drunk (should be easy enough with the Fianna Fail crowd) and then organise a semi naked escort to appear and have her photograph taken sitting on the honorable member of parliament. :D:D:D

It needs to stay serious, not really a good time for jokes, if escorts were protesting outside the Dáil like that in the picture, you can almost guarantee they would get a load of publicity from the media to help their cause. Many escorts want to protest and have their identity hidden, maybe masks can help, maybe not who knows, but if escorts make enough noise they will get heard by the media for that everyone should be sure of.

Apologies Brock, you are correct.......and well done on all the interesting and useful information that you've been able to assemble in this forum.
