Those lovely people at the Immigrant Council of Ireland have done a great job in allowing all of the eastern europeans in here to leach our benefits system and if we complain about it we must all be backward, racist, hateful bigots. Such charming people....
Now they are insisting that prostitution is wrong and should be shut down. What the Immigrant Council of Ireland has to do with making prostitution criminal is beyond me. :rolleyes: They seem to be shady about their funding, I'm sure they get "donations" by the state (perhaps also some "sisters of charity") in some way or another.
Time to name and shame the people involved in this....:

industry into which women, men and children are trafficked is the most effective
way to combat this heinous crime.

I Personaly think the sweedish model will eventually be introduced here, this whole movement has been gaining momentum
with a while, i think two facts are important here, we are not dealing with a bunch of cranks here alot of those signed carry
substantial political clout and would be pretty highly regarded. The second point is that for the first time we have a group
comprising of men asking for this. Im not saying this will happen in the near future but deff can see it happening in the
medium term

Well as long as outside the jurisdiction the website will be ok, but i guess the traffic
and amount of ladies will reduce drastically. One guy who was running one of the
main websites in Sweeden was caught but he was working from within the country.
U will still have buisness but for safety most guys will want the girl to come to them

Firstly, let me state I'm a regular punter, and would defend the rights of escorts to work and customers to pay.
I believe it is necessary and to ban it is folly.
However, the people at ruhama and at the immigrant council have their heart in the right place.
Sex trafficking and the greyer area of sexual exploitation ARE genuine problems, and although I'm sure most of the girls if not all who contribute to this site are in this
business because they choose to be, that is absolutely not the case for all girls who escort in this country and I'm afraid not even for all the girls who advertise on this site.
I've had direct experience of what support these agencies provide and won't say any more than that.
I've offered my ideas to them in the past from a punters perspective and as a result of my experience was asked to join a council to take part in debate about this topic. Unfortunately I had to decline to fully protect my anonymity.
However, I think if you give a toss about sexual exploitation but also believe in the necessity of this business, then I challenge you to come up with some ideas and not just dismiss these people as busy bodies whose funding you 'question'.

What an over reaction again. To stop sexual explotation it is up to the police to work on this as in the UK. But leave us independents alone. In Sweden what has happened now is that escorting has been driven underground and this just means that more under age sexual explotation is taking place and the police find it really hard to discover. Dreadful model that has not worked.

All Eastern Europeans here are leaching off the system?

The vast majority of Eastern Europeans came over here to work not leach.
When we thought we were too good for certain jobs they came to do them. Many with high level qualifications. They paid their taxes like everyone else and thus deserve support when unemplyment looms.
It is through the retention of these people young, smart, hardworking, qualified, people of lower expectations that will help this country raise itself out of recession.
The Eastern Europeans are an easy target for the bitter. Why not target the tens of thousands of people that never worked even when we had full employment? The guys you see hanging around with their other tracksuit buddies in the shopping centres of steps of the court house every week.
I have no problem challenging aspects of the social welfare system. However can we judge people on their contribution to the state up to the time they became unemployed and their willingness to work?

its not all East Europeans who are scamming the system but there are a huge amount here doing so there are sooo many examples has the social welfare not recently stopped the EE collecting dole here getting a Ryanair cheap flight back to their country to work back next week & so on , I moved from an area recently 6 EE's living in the same house 2 were getting Rent Allowance for other houses that they were subletting haveu ever seen so many EE qomen pushing prams er coming over here to work get a job get pregnant go on maternity leave child benefit etc come on look aroud u, I dont speak out of bitterness but rather I object strongly to my taxes being used in this way the Irish are doing it for years but lets deal with them this welfare system afford it.....

Ah EXP everyone has "a story" of the EE neighbours and how they are all taking us for a ride! How does what you say make sense in relation to sub letting? If they are in receipt of rent allowance who are they sub letting to but presumably to other people on the social welfare system who would be entitled to rent allowance themselves.
Where are the sooo many examples? Huge amount of them? Can you supply some facts and figures on that?
Yon have to have been a resident in Ireland two years before you are able to collect dole! Therefore bar they lived on fresh air they were working for the two years!
I am amazed that by seeing an EE Lady walking with a pram you are able to surmise their life story and that they are taking advantage. The fact is that unless you worked you are not entitled to maternity benefit. If she worked she is entitled to the benefit. They are entitled to have famalies too you know!

I will take that as a no so!
I don't agree in the measures being put forward by these agencies.
However I think some of you, punters and escorts alike are burying your head in the sand if you think exploitation and trafficking is not happening in this country today.
These agencies provide excellent support services and are not deserving of the ridicule they are occasionally subjected to on this site.
I do think it is the job of the police to stamp out these activities but it's not an easy choice for a frightened girl to make to go to the police.
I think the agencies would be more effective if they could convince girls with issues that they offer a safe, confidential service. Traffickers and some pimps need to be shopped before they are caught and dealt with.
